Black Mountain of Maine

The downhill skiing area was expanded in 2005, and has 46 trails serviced by two chairlifts.

This is a breathtaking lookout where you can view some of the area lakes and mountains. This is also a great place to view a sunset, or the fall foliage. Moose can often be seen along Route 17 on the way to Height Of Land.

Address: 1657 Bear River Rd, Newry, ME 04261 .Step Falls, Screw Auger Falls, Mother Walker, Trails to Moose Cave and Jail: Grafton Notch State Park, 20 miles north on Route 26, off Route 2 in Newry. Scenic drive, hiking, picnicking, and swimming. Hike to Table Rock - look for information signs in the park.
